All of my neighbours are doing the same as I am. The sky has been dark enough for an hour now that I just turn on my lights, even though it’s still well before six. In the distance, I hear a subtle rumble. All of my neighbours are anticipating storm and getting cosy. I realise that, although it might be the only thing we really have in common, this makes me sympathise with them. A thing as simple as that apparently puts you back where you belong.
